Two Prince George’s County sites – Greenbelt and Landover – were previously two of three finalist locations for new consolidated headquarters
Upper Marlboro, MD – Prince George’s County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III, released this statement following the news of the coordinated effort of Maryland’s House of Representatives Congressional Delegation to pressure the General Services Administration to put the FBI consolidated headquarters proposal back on track to go to either a Maryland or Virginia location.
“I am impressed with the great teamwork that our Maryland Congressional leaders have demonstrated in working together to get the FBI project back on track. Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger, working in collaboration with Congressmen Steny Hoyer and Anthony Brown, pushed language that resulted in the House Commerce, Justice, Science Appropriations Bill for FY19 denying funding for a new FBI facility at the old J. Edgar Hoover site.
